What is the lowest temperature the air conditioning should be set at?
Our AC thermostats can be set to cool at a minimum of 70 degrees during the Summer. These parameters are based on manufacturer and AC Service Technician recommendations, and they ensure that you will have a stay without interruptions. In Southwest Florida, our exterior “feels like” temperatures can reach into the high 100’s, with humidity in the 80%-90% ranges. AC systems are only designed to cool a room to 20 degrees below the ambient outside temperature. So, if it is 95 degrees outside, the AC system will only be able to cool the home or unit to 75 degrees respectively. Important fact - I swear this is true, AC systems do not put out colder air when set at 50 then they do when set at 70. Whenever an AC is running the air temperature coming out of it will be between 50 and 60°, then when the room temperature hits the target on the thermostat, it will rest. Setting your thermostat below 70° will not make the room cooler faster, but it will almost definitely freeze your condenser causing an AC disruption lasting between six and 10 hours while the condenser is defrosted.

How do I get to Siesta Key?
Every airport will have options available for rental vehicles, city taxi, and Uber/Lyft. The best airports are - Sarasota International ("SRQ" about 10 miles away), Tampa ("TPA" 60 miles away), and Fort Myers ("RSW" 80 miles away). Punta Gorda (PGD) and St. Petersburg (PIE) are each also about 60 miles away and have some great flights but they serve limited markets. Orlando is always an option (MCO 140 miles away). Also note, Siesta Key is not near Key West (no beaches there), but is actually part of the beautiful and equally popular city of Sarasota.
-
Do I need a car in Siesta Key?
No, but… Most of our locations are going to be a short walk to top attractions on the island. There is also the Siesta Breeze, an antique replica trolley that runs the length of the beaches and picks up along Beach Road and Midnight Pass Rd. It passes every 20 or 30 minutes and is free of charge. When staying in properties south of Crescent Beach you “might” enjoy the convenience of having a car.

What is the world famous Siesta Key Beach?
Although any beach on Siesta Key can be accurately described as a Siesta Key Beach, it is only the beaches between Point of Rocks in the South and Big Pass in the North that have the world famous 99% white quartz Sand.
